Leyla Mafi

 Iran is the sole country in the world that permits children to be executed. According to Amnesty International, Leyla's parents sold her at the age of twelve to an Afghan man to be his "temporary wife". Her mother-in-law made her prostitute at 14 years old and she had a baby in the process. Her family of origin sold her to a married fifty-five year old man. He then changed her back to prostitution. Leyla was said to have given her first child at nine years old.While Leyla was in prison awaiting her execution, now well-known human rights journalist and activist Asieh Amini was fighting to get Leyla a lawyer. Despite being a teenager, Leyla could not sign the document that would permit Asieh to hire an attorney on her behalf, so Asieh placed ink on Leyla's finger and managed to get her to mark on the document. Despite a setback
