Marcus Aurelius, one of the most revered Roman Emperors, believed that his empire should be considered as the most important. He was the final Roman Emperor during the "Pax Romana", an age of relatively stable Rome and peace. His philosophical ideas and writings that he wrote as a fervent fan of Stoicism were compile and kept in the dairy for over ten years. The world has come to know this compilation as the 'Meditations'. It is believed that this strong leader spent his childhood and early years engaging in drama, music, literature, science, and geometry. He was a passionate student of philosophy as a child and later discovered a love for law, which eventually led to him being elected the leader of the Senate. He fought the northern nemeses together with his brother Verus, and his son Commodus in his time as emperor.
