Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, born April 16, 1993 is an American musician and rapper. Born in Chicago, Bennett released his debut mixtape 10 Day in 2012. He began to gain the attention of the public in 2013 after the release of his second mixtape, Acid Rap. In 2016 he released Coloring Book, his third mixtape. It received even more critical acclaim. He won three Grammy Awards for it, including the Best Rap Album award. It also became the first album solely streaming to receive a Grammy Award and reached number eight on Billboard 200. The Big Day was his debut studio album. The Big Day was released in 2019.Aside from his solo career, Bennett is a member of the Chicago collective Savemoney as well as the lead vocalist of the group The Social Experiment; they released the album Surf in 2015, led by the trumpeter Nico Segal.He is also active with social causes within the Chicago neighborhood where he resides.His father, Ken Williams-Bennett, was an aide to the late Chicago mayor Harold Washington and then-Senator Barack Obama.
