Michael Oher is an American offensive lineman in the NFL with a a net value of $16 million. Oher's life story was portrayed in the Academy Award-winning film "The Blind Side" which starred Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. Michael's role was played by Quinton Aaron.Michael Oher was born May 28, 1986 , in Memphis, Tennessee. Oher was the son of Denise Oher (an alcoholic and crack cocaine addict) and Michael Jerome Williams (a father who was incarcerated for a long period of time in prison). He was never disciplined or provided with the care he required because of his upbringing. He was a repeat student in both the first and second grade and attended 11 schools in his initial nine years as a student. When he was seven, he was placed in foster custody. He lived in various foster homes, and also experienced periods of being homeless. Oher's biological dad, a former cellmate Denise Oher’s brother was murdered in prison while Oher was a senior high school student. Michael Oher was a young Michael Oher was finally taken into custody by Sean Tuohy and Leigh Anne Tuohy at the age of 16, and the Tuohys became Oher's legal guardians when he turned 17. Oher was assigned tutors who would work with him for 20 hours a week.
