Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani is a billionaire with a net worth $86 billion. Mukesh Ambani earned his wealth from his career at Reliance Industries, a Fortune 500 company, where he is chairman, managing director, and largest shareholder.Mukesh Dhirubhai ambani was born on the 19th of April 1957, in the British Crown colony of Aden which is now Yemen. He has a younger brother and two sisters. The family moved back to India in 1958, and his father started a trading company that dealt in textiles and spices in Mumbai. In the year 1980 the Indian government allowed the manufacturing of polyester filament yarn (PFY). Ambani's father applied for a license to establish the PFY manufacturing plant. He beat more than 40 other applicants to obtain the license. Ambani, the eldest child of the family, was kicked from his MBA program at Stanford by his father, who preferred real-world experience over classroom learning--to help build the plant. Following executive director Rasikbhai Meswani's death, and his father's stroke in 1986, the company's responsibility was handed over to Ambani and his brother Anil.
