David Ortez

 David Ortiz, a Dominican-born professional baseball player now worth $55 million is a former Dominican-born professional player in baseball. David Ortiz is most famous for playing for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball. He is a seven time All-Star player, and also holds the Red Sox's single-season record for total number of home runs in a single season with 54. Ortiz was awarded a medal in 2005, which declared him the "greatest clutch-hitter" in the history of the Red Sox. "David Ortiz," also known as "Big Papi", was born on the 18th of November 1975 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was admitted as an U.S. citizen in Boston on June 11 the 11th of June, 2008. He was the fourth of four children born to Enrique Ortiz, Angela Rosa Arias and died on the 11th of June the 11th of June, 2008. He was inspired by the legendary pitcher Ramon Martinez growing up as and Ramon's brother Pedro Martinez, who is also a well-known MLB player for the Red Sox.Ortiz was signed by the Seattle Mariners in November 1992 after he had graduated from Estudia Espaillat High School in the Dominican Republic. He was 17 years old when he signed the contract ten days later. Baseball America named Ortiz as the most thrilling player in the Midwest League in 1996.
