Charley Jordan (July 11, 1890 until November 15 1890 - November 15, 1954) was an American St. Louis blues musician, singer, and songwriter and a talent scout originally from Mabelvale, Arkansas, United States.He was known for a distinctive style that was influenced by his rural roots.The Killer Blues Headstone Project placed a headstone for Charley Jordan.Jordan recorded many singles with Vocalion as well as Decca between 1930 and 1937. He also performed with some well-regarded bluesmen in the 1920s and into the 1940s. Jordan was a member of Peetie Wheatstraw, Roosevelt Sykes, Casey Bill Weldon and Memphis Minnie. He was famous for his "crisply-firm guitar" and had many of his greatest songs including "Keep It Clean". This was due to his extra-musical career as an a bootlegger. He was left with a permanent handicap, and was forced to use crutches to aid in his mobility.
