Scotty Maurice Pippen Sr. (born on the 25th of September 1965) commonly spelled Scottie Pippen, is an American professional basketball player who played in the past. He played 17 seasons with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls. Considered one of the greatest small forwards of all time, Pippen, along with Michael Jordan, played an important role in transforming the Bulls into an elite team and increasing the popularity of the NBA across the globe during the 1990s.Pippen was selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team eight times in succession and the All-NBA First Team three times. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star, and the NBA All-Star Game MVP for 1994. He was recognized as among the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History during the 1996-97 season, and is the fourth player to have his jersey retired by the Chicago Bulls (the others being Jerry Sloan, Bob Love, and Jordan). He was a major player of the Chicago Bulls Championship and 1996 Chicago Bulls Championship teams that were selected as two of the top 10 Teams.
