Jermaine Lamarr Cole (born January 28 1984) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Cole was born on a German military base and raised in Fayetteville. He first gained recognition as a rapper in 2007 with the release of the mixtape The Come Up, his debut mixtape. Intent on further pursuing a musical career, he proceeded to release two mixtapes, The Warm Up (2009) and Friday Night Lights (2010) both to critical acclaim, following his signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation imprint in 2009.Cole released his first studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, in 2011. The album reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200. [5Born Sinner Born Sinner (2013) was his next album and topped the Billboard 200. 2014 Forest Hills Drive (2014) which was an album that was more conscious that topped the Billboard 200. Cole received an Best Rap Album nomination from the 2015 Grammy Awards. 4 Your Eyez Only (2016), Cole's fourth album that features jazz elements, debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200. It was released on May 14, 2021.
