Sir Michael Philip Jagger, born 26 July 1943, is an English music producer and singer. He is best known for his role as singer-songwriter and lead vocalist of the band The Rolling Stones. The songwriting partnership he formed with Keith Richards remains one of the most successful partnerships in music history. Jagger's career spans six years. Jagger is widely considered as one among the most influential and popular frontmen in the history of rock music. His distinct voice and lively live performances, along with Richards guitar style have been the Rolling Stones' trademark throughout the band's career. Jagger's use of illicit drugs and romantic relationships gained his a lot of media interest. He was also portrayed as a countercultural figure. Jagger was born in Dartford. After attending the London School of Economics, he was a member of the Rolling Stones to continue his studies. Jagger has written most of the Rolling Stones' songs together with Richards, and continues to collaborate musically.
