Bernadette (nee Lazzara, born February 28th 1948) was an American actress, singer and children's author. Over a career spanning over six decades, she has been a part of musical theatre, television and film and performed in solo shows and recorded her own music. She is a highly-acclaimed Broadway performer. She has received seven Tony Awards nominations and won two of them (plus an honorary award). There have been nine nominations for the Drama Desk Awards and she won three. She has been awarded Grammy Awards for four of the Broadway productions she has starred in. (2018).
